Help - Contrast too high / too low (reason for refusal)

Color saturation and contrast of your pictures are just as important as the right amount of salt in your soup. If there is too much the soup is too salty, too less the soup tastes flavorless. A picture with the most beautiful Caribbean beach with white sand and gorgeous palm trees under a blue sky will just look like a bad grey-blue mixture because the contrast is too low and the colors are faint. In this case, the best picture belongs into the garbage can.

On the other hand, it can become too much of a good thing quickly. A foto of a beautiful grace does not become a good picture if the contrast is too high and the most gorgeous female face loses its softness. Or, the color saturation is so high that we get the impression this beauty has a copper nose and the discreet lipstick looks like a firecracker. Hence, use common sense – the most important thing is a healthy balance. While taking pictures, just always pay attention to the correct ratio between lens aperture (f-number) and shutter speed.
